Alchemical Wizard 37 : Aromatherapy / Natures Remedy!
Aromatherapy entails the use of essential oils that are made using a wide variety of medicinal plants, flowers, herbs, roots and trees that are grown all over the world. Many have proven to have powerful effects on improving physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. The use of pure essential oils seeks to change or modify our mind, body and spirit. To influence our overall physiology and alter our mood! Obviously it changes our environment and our smelling sense! Natural essential oils gives us that calm feeling when we are out in nature. Think of hiking out in the mountains and discovering a large field of wild flowers that are also surrounded by giant ancient trees and then sitting down to meditate!
Plants contain certain beneficial chemical compounds as a means of protecting themselves from insects, rodents and bacteria. The active ingredients within the oils are taken directly from medicinal plants or herbs through a process known as distillation, then mixed with alcohol to preserve their strength. The finished result is a very concentrated oily formula that can be mixed with other substances. Because they’re very strong, natural essential oils used in aromatherapy practices are usually combined with a carrier oil, such as almond oil, jojoba oil or a coconut oil before being applied directly to the skin! Or they are diluted into an oil burning candle! They are also used to create an aromatic bath!
Distillation and the use of essential oils dates back more than four thousand years. An archaeological discovery of a clay alembic still including bowls found in Cyprus was approximately 4,000 years old. When it was tested it indicated that the still was used to perform distillations of rosemary, lavender and other botanicals. And of course the ancient Egyptians used to embalm the dead with infused oils such as cedar, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and myrrh! For thousands of years, natural essential oils have been an important part of self-care and medicinal practices used in perfume making, tonics, cleansers, wound salves and more. Some of the earliest civilizations to adopt the use of aromatherapy included the ancient Chinese, Indians, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. Hippocrates recommended aromatic baths for medicinal benefits!
TIP : When taking a salt bath with magnesium chloride flakes and your favorite essential oil, try to find products with Fir, Cedar, Cypress or Hinoki tree bark in them. It will help draw out heavy metal toxins!
Some of the benefits of using essential oils at home or topically on our skin are to relieve day to day stressors, muscle and joint pains, digestion, respiratory problems, trouble sleeping and resting, anxiety and depression!
This ancient Self-care practice can help support us in our Ascension Journey by aiding our focus and concentration, grounding and centering us in uncertain times, improving our immune systems, and allowing us better sleep! In our ever changing world full of dismantling the old guard, up-scaling the electromagnetic fields of Earth, the crumbling of outdated systems and the consistent amount of disclosures we face daily, we may find support in a very ancient holistic health modality called aromatherapy!
